Ford Kuga Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV)

Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles (PHEV) have all the functionality of full Hybrid technology, with the added advantage that they can be charged from an external electricity supply, offering the best of both worlds. The larger capacity of the battery makes them capable of zero-emissions while driving for ranges of up to 35 miles††, with the ability to switch to Hybrid mode to conserve battery life and to petrol or diesel-only for longer journeys.

The Ford Kuga PHEV offers a seamless blend of petrol and electric power, with the advanced Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) technology combining a battery-powered electric motor with a 2.5-litre Duratec petrol engine. The hybrid battery can be recharged at home or public charging stations. Energy recaptured while braking also helps charge the battery as you drive. The Ford Kuga PHEV can drive up to 35miles†† on electric power alone, and has a total hybrid driving range of up to 465 miles, when fully charged.

For journeys that are longer, the conventional combustion engine uses powersplit technology to help recharge the Hybrid battery as you drive, while energy captured through regenerative braking also helps to extend the electric range even further. 

Ford Kuga EcoBlue Hybrid (MHEV) 

The Ford Kuga’s EcoBlue Hybrid uses a mild hybrid system that includes an electric motor with a self-charging 48-volt battery. It utilises regenerative braking to recapture the energy that is usually lost when you apply the brakes and uses that energy to assist the 1.5L EcoBoost petrol engine, reducing emission and improving fuel economy.

Ford Kuga Self-Charging Full Hybrid (FHEV)

The self-charging Ford Kuga Hybrid combines a highly efficient 2.5-litre Duratec engine with a battery-powered electric motor and optional all-wheel drive (AWD). The larger battery can store more power to further increase fuel economy and can drive short distances on electric power alone, while the system also recaptures energy usually lost while decelerating.

Ford Kuga EcoBoost (Petrol) 

The 1.5-litre Ford EcoBoost petrol engine in the Ford Kuga uses a combination of turbocharging and direct fuel injection to deliver remarkable efficiency with outstanding power. It’s available in a choice of 120PS or 150PS options, offering the uncompromised performance you ‘d expect from a conventional 1.5-litre engine, but with lower CO2 emissions and better fuel economy.

Advanced Convenience Technology

The Ford Kuga is offered with FordPass Connect embedded modem technology that turns the vehicle into a mobile WiFi hotspot with connectivity for up to 10 devices.

For faster, easier journeys there are Live Traffic updates for the navigation system and a range of convenient features via the FordPass mobile app, including Vehicle Locator, Vehicle Status, Door Lock Unlock and Remote Start.

Devices can remain connected via Bluetooth to Ford’s SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system while using wireless charging, supported by an 8" touchscreen. Drivers can control audio, navigation and climate functions plus connected smartphones using simple voice commands. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™ compatibility is included as standard.
